GCSE NEAs (Coursework)

English Coursework

Each piece of coursework is worth 20% of the final grade. There are 2 pieces for English Language (Creative Writing and Poetry & Prose) and 2 pieces for English Literature (Macbeth and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time).

This coursework takes the place of an additional exam (Paper 2) and students who do not meet these deadlines will be entered for paper 2. Coursework is the better of the two options, and an opportunity to go into the exam with a solid foundation already in place.

Year 11

Draft 1:  8th August 2025

Draft 2: 25th October 2025

Draft 3: 18th December 2025

FINAL DEADLINE: 27th February 2026

Year 10

Draft 1 deadlines

Poetry and prose: 15th December 2025

Macbeth: 27th February 2026

Creative Writing: 17th April 2026

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time: 5th August 2026
